[Problem] To make effective area larger than in the prior art in an illumination device for a hologram and a hologram display device, in which diverging light is incident from a side surface of a light-guiding plate. [Solution] This illumination device for a hologram irradiates a hologram for image reproduction on which a stereoscopic image is recorded with illumination light. The illumination device for the hologram is characterized by being provided with: a light source; a light-guiding plate through which light from the light source propagates; a holographic optical element for illumination which receives at least part of the light propagating through the light-guiding plate to reproduce the illumination light; and an optical system which causes the light from the light source to be incident as diverging light on a side incident surface of the light-guiding plate in plan view, wherein, in plan view, the light-guiding plate has an approximately polygonal shape as a whole, and the central axis of the diverging light is disposed diagonally to sides of the approximately polygonal shape of the light-guiding plate.

Le problème décrit par la présente invention est d'agrandir, par rapport à l'état de la technique, la zone effective d'un dispositif d'éclairage pour hologramme et d'un dispositif d'affichage d'hologramme dans lesquels une lumière divergente est incidente à partir d'une surface latérale d'une plaque de guidage de lumière. La solution selon l'invention porte sur un dispositif d'éclairage pour hologramme qui irradie un hologramme servant à la reproduction d'image et sur lequel une image stéréoscopique est enregistrée avec une lumière d'éclairage. Le dispositif d'éclairage pour hologramme est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend : une source de lumière ; une plaque de guidage de lumière à travers laquelle la lumière provenant de la source de lumière se propage ; un élément optique holographique pour éclairage qui reçoit au moins une partie de la lumière se propageant à travers la plaque de guidage de lumière de façon à reproduire la lumière d'éclairage ; et un système optique qui amène la lumière provenant de la source de lumière à être incidente en tant que lumière divergente sur une surface d'incidence latérale de la plaque de guidage de lumière dans une vue en plan, la plaque de guidage de lumière ayant une forme approximativement polygonale dans son ensemble lorsque vue en plan, et l'axe central de la lumière divergente étant disposé diagonalement par rapport aux côtés de la forme approximativement polygonale de la plaque de guidage de lumière.
