A communications device electrically connected to a vehicle having an engine, that, if a network currently used by the communications device is not a prescribed network, executes periodic network searches for finding the prescribed network. The communications device limits execution of the periodic network searches during an off period in which the engine is off.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de communication connecté électriquement à un véhicule motorisé, qui, si un réseau couramment utilisé par le dispositif de communication n'est pas un réseau prescrit, exécute des recherches périodiques de réseau pour trouver le réseau prescrit. Le dispositif de communication limite l'exécution des recherches périodiques de réseau à une période d'inactivité durant laquelle le moteur est éteint.
