The present invention addresses the problem of providing: an optically alignable copolymer which, after being formed into a layer, can improve upper layer application performance; a binder composition; a binder layer; an optical layered body; and an image display device. This optically alignable copolymer comprises: a repeating unit A which includes an optically alignable group; a repeating unit B which includes a crosslinkable group that causes a crosslinking reaction due to the effect of at least one selected from the group consisting of light, heat, an acid, and a base; and a repeating unit C which includes a cleaving group that decomposes to produce a polar group due to the effect of at least one selected from the group consisting of light, heat, an acid, and a base. The repeating unit C has the cleaving group on a side chain thereof, and also has, more toward a terminal side than the cleaving group on the side chain, a group of atoms capable of causing the optically alignable copolymer to be unevenly distributed on an air boundary side.

La présente invention aborde le problème consistant à fournir : un copolymère apte à être optiquement aligné qui, après avoir été formé en une couche, peut améliorer des performances d'application de couche supérieure ; une composition de liant ; une couche de liant ; un corps stratifié optique ; et un dispositif d'affichage d'image. Le copolymère apte à être optiquement aligné comprend : une unité de répétition A qui comprend un groupe apte à être optiquement aligné ; une unité de répétition B qui comprend un groupe apte à être réticulé qui provoque une réaction de réticulation à cause de l'effet d'au moins un élément sélectionné parmi le groupe constitué de la lumière, de la chaleur, d'un acide et d'une base ; et une unité de répétition C qui comprend un groupe de clivage qui se décompose pour produire un groupe polaire à cause de l'effet d'au moins un élément sélectionné parmi le groupe constitué de la lumière, de la chaleur, d'un acide et d'une base. 本発明は、層として形成された後において上層塗布性を良好とすることができる光配向性共重合体、バインダー組成物、バインダー層、光学積層体および画像表示装置を提供することを課題とする。本発明の光配向性共重合体は、光配向性基を含む繰り返し単位Aと、光、熱、酸および塩基からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の作用により架橋反応を生起する架橋性基を含む繰り返し単位Bと、光、熱、酸および塩基からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の作用により分解して極性基を生じる開裂基を含む繰り返し単位Cと、を有する光配向性共重合体であって、繰り返し単位Cが、側鎖に開裂基を有し、かつ、側鎖の開裂基よりも末端側に、光配向性共重合体を空気界面側に偏在させることが可能な原子団を有する、光配向性共重合体である。
