[Problem] To provide a technology such as a servo write head that can improve the accuracy of recording a servo pattern. [Solution] A servo write head according to the present invention is provided with a recording surface. This recording surface has a first region which is formed with a first width in a width direction and which corresponds to a position where a magnetic gap is provided in a longitudinal direction orthogonal to the width direction, and a second region which is formed with a second width narrower than the first width and which corresponds to a position where the magnetic gap is not provided in the longitudinal direction. A servo pattern is recorded on the magnetic tape through the magnetic gap.
