This isolator is provided with a first waveguide of a linear shape positioned along a substrate surface and a second waveguide of an annular shape on a substrate having the substrate surface. Each of the first waveguide and the second waveguide has a core and a clad. The first waveguide has a first end and a second end, and ports which are respectively positioned in the first end and the second end and through which an electromagnetic wave is input and output. The core of the second waveguide includes a non-reciprocity member in at least a portion of a cross section that intersects in a direction in which the second waveguide extends.

Cet isolateur est pourvu d'un premier guide d'ondes d'une forme linéaire positionné le long d'une surface de substrat et d'un second guide d'ondes d'une forme annulaire sur un substrat ayant la surface de substrat. Chacun du premier guide d'onde et du second guide d'onde a un coeur et une gaine. Le premier guide d'ondes a une première extrémité et une seconde extrémité, et des orifices qui sont respectivement positionnés dans la première extrémité et la seconde extrémité et à travers lesquels une onde électromagnétique est entrée et sortie. Le coeur du second guide d'ondes contient un élément non réciproque dans au moins une partie d'une section transversale qui croise la direction dans laquelle s'étend le second guide d'ondes.
