An aqueous epoxy resin composition which is obtained by blending (A) an aqueous epoxy resin and (B) a curing agent composition that contains (b1) a reaction product of epichlorohydrin and an amine compound represented by general formula (1), and which is configured such that the content ratio of the component (A) to the component (B) in the aqueous epoxy resin composition is from 1/1.1 to 1/0.3 in terms of (number of epoxy groups in component (A))/(number of active amine hydrogen atoms in component (B)); and a cured product of this aqueous epoxy resin composition. (1): H2N-CH2-A-CH2-NH2 (In formula (1), A represents a 1, 2-phenylene group, a 1, 3-phenylene group or a 1, 4-phenylene group.)
