The purpose of the present embodiment is to provide a display device in which a reduction in display quality can be suppressed. The display device of the present embodiment is provided with: a first substrate provided with a first transparent substrate and a pixel electrode; a second substrate provided with a second transparent substrate, and a shared electrode facing the pixel electrode; a liquid crystal layer including a polymer and liquid crystal molecules, positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate; a seal for bonding the first substrate and the second substrate and sealing the liquid crystal layer; and a light-emitting element; the second transparent substrate being provided with a side surface which faces the light-emitting element, and the color of the seal being black, yellow, or red.

Le but de la présente invention est de fournir un dispositif d'affichage dans lequel une réduction de qualité d'affichage peut être supprimée. Le dispositif d'affichage du présent mode de réalisation comporte un premier substrat pourvu d'un premier substrat transparent et d'une électrode de pixel ; un second substrat pourvu d'un second substrat transparent et d'une électrode partagée faisant face à l'électrode de pixel ; une couche de cristaux liquides comprenant un polymère et des molécules de cristaux liquides, positionnées entre le premier substrat et le second substrat ; un joint pour lier le premier et le second substrat et sceller la couche de cristaux liquides ; et un élément électroluminescent ; le second substrat transparent étant pourvu d'une surface latérale qui fait face à l'élément électroluminescent et le joint d'étanchéité étant de couleur noire, jaune ou rouge.
