Abstract

A transformant, which is obtained by introducing into a bacterium of the genus Hydrogenophilus (a) a lactate dehydrogenase gene and/or (b) a malate/lactate dehydrogenase gene, can efficiently produce lactic acid with the use of carbon dioxide as a sole carbon source. From the viewpoint of high lactic acid production efficiency, ldh genes of Parageobacillus thermoglucosidasius, Geobacillus kaustophilus and Thermus thermophilus are preferred among lactate dehydrogenase genes, and mldh gene of Thermus thermophilus and mldh-1 and mldh-2 genes of Meiothermus ruber are preferred among malate/lactate dehydrogenase genes.

Transformant, étant obtenu par l'introduction dans une bactérie du genre Hydrogénophilus (a) d'un gène de lactate déshydrogénase et/ou (b) d'un gène de malate/lactate déshydrogénase, pouvant produire efficacement de l'acide lactique à l'aide de dioxyde de carbone comme unique source de carbone. Du point de vue de l'efficacité de production élevée d'acide lactique, les gènes ldh de Parageobacillus thermoglucosidasius, Geobacillus kaustophilus et Thermus thermophilus sont préférés parmi les gènes de lactate déshydrogénase, et mldh de Thermus thermophilus et mldh-1 et les gènes mldh-2 de la Meiothermus ruber sont préférés parmi les gènes de malate/lactate déshydrogénase.

ヒドロゲノフィラス属細菌に、(a)乳酸デヒドロゲナーゼ遺伝子、及び/又は(b)リンゴ酸/乳酸デヒドロゲナーゼ遺伝子を導入することにより得られる形質転換体は、二酸化炭素を唯一の炭素源として利用して効率よく乳酸を製造することができる。乳酸製造効率が良い点で、乳酸デヒドロゲナーゼ遺伝子の中では、パラジオバチルス サーモグルコシダシウス、ジオバチルス カウストフィラス、又はサーマス サーモフィラスの各ldh遺伝子、リンゴ酸/乳酸デヒドロゲナーゼ遺伝子の中では、サーマス サーモフィラスのmldh遺伝子、メイオサーマス ルバーのmldh-1及びmldh-2遺伝子が好ましい。
