CLAIMS

1 . An electronic power divider (1 ) for RF signals, comprising:

- one or more inputs (INi . IN4) suited to be fed by a RF electromagnetic signal

(S) with a predetermined wavelength (A);

- at least two outputs (OUT1. OUT12) for said RF signal (S), each one of which is connected to the same input (IN1. IN4);

- respective electric paths (3) suited to connect each output (OUT1. OUT12) to the corresponding input (IN1. IN4);

- means (7) for the selective variation of the electric impedance (Z) associated with each of said electric paths (3) during the propagation of said RF electromagnetic signal (S) therethrough;

wherein said impedance variation means (7) are designed to vary the impedance associated with said paths (3) in a discrete manner between two predetermined values, respectively lower (ZMIN) and upper (ZMAX);

characterized in that said impedance variation means (7) are designed to simultaneously maintain the value of the impedance associated with two or more paths (3) at least at said lower value (ZMIN).

2. Electronic power divider as claimed in claim 1 , characterized in that it comprises three or more electric paths suited to connect said outputs (OUT1. OUT12) to the corresponding input (IN1..., IN4), said means for the selective variation of the impedance

(7) being configured to simultaneously maintain the impedance associated with one or more paths (3) at least at said upper value (ZMIN) and/or at least at lower value (ZMAX).

3. Electronic power divider as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said electric paths (3) have a common point (4) which is electrically connected to said one or more inputs (IN1..., IN4).

Electronic power divider as claimed in claim 3, characterized in that for each electric path (3) said means for the selective variation of the impedance (7) include a capacitor (8) connected in parallel to said common point (4) and a switching element (9) suited to selectively connect said common point (4) to said capacitor (8) or to the corresponding output (OUT1..., OUT12) of said path (3).

5. Electronic power divider as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that said capacitor

(8) and said switching element (9) make it possible to set the impedance associated with each path (3) at said upper value (ZMAX) by modifying the electromagnetic behaviour of said paths (3), said modification being substantially equivalent to that produced by inserting a part of the transmission line with predetermined specific length and impedance at said common point (4).

Electronic power divider as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that said selective modification of the electromagnetic behaviour of each path (3) is substantially equivalent to that generated by a stub applied at said common point (4), said stub being substantially of the quarter-wave type with respect to the wavelength (l) of said RF signal (S).

7. Electronic power divider as claimed in one or more claims from 5 to 6, characterized in that said switching element (9) is made by transistors.

8. Electronic power divider as claimed in one or more claims from 5 to 6, characterized in that said switching element (9) is made by diodes (11 ).

9. Electronic power divider as claimed in one or more claims from 5 to 6, characterized in that said switching element (9) is designed to selectively connect said common point (4) to said output (OUTi . OUT12).

10. Electronic power divider as claimed in one or more claims from 5 to 6, characterized in that said switching element (9) can be made by discrete components and/or integrated circuits.

Electronic power divider as claimed in claim 6, characterized in that said switching element (9) comprises two diodes (1 1) connected in parallel to each other and having the cathode (12) electrically connected to said common point (4), one diode (11 ) of said pair being connected in series to a corresponding output (OUT1. OUT12) and the other diode (11 ) of said pair being connected in series to said capacitor (8) to define with it said quarter-wave stub.

Electronic power divider as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that it comprises an electronic control unit (21 ) connected to said switching element (9) to selectively promote the electric connection of said common point (4) to a respective capacitor (8) and/or to a respective output (OUT1. OUT12) of said electric paths (OUT1. OUT12).

13. An electronic system (22) for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic signals, comprising:

- at least two antennas (23);

- supply means (24) suited to promote the electric supply of said antennas (23) with a RF signal (S) having a predetermined wavelength (A);

wherein said at least two antennas (23) are mutually spaced from each other by a predetermined distance (di, d2), said distance (di, d2) being variable according to the wavelength (A) of said RF signal (S);

wherein said supply means (24) comprise an electronic power divider (1) for RF signals (S) of the type according to one or more of the preceding claims, said power divider (1 ) being provided with at least one input (INi . IN4) for said RF signal and with at least two outputs (OUT1. OUT12) respectively connected to said at least two antennas (23).
