Abstract

An opposed-piston internal combustion engine to be connected with at least one generator comprises at least two cylinders (9, 10) with phase-coincidenced opposed-pistons (11, 12), connecting rods (7, 8) and parallel crankshafts (1, 2) interconnected by gears (3, 4) of the same diameter and of opposite senses of rotation. The first crankshaft (1) is coupled with the first generator (5) and the second crankshaft (2) is coupled with the second generator (6) and/or with a fly wheel (18). To achieve an optimal balance of rotating as well as of sliding masses and their effects, the moment of inertia of the first crankshaft assembly (1) is equal to the moment of inertia of the second one (2), and the cylinders (9, 10) with phase-coincidenced opposed-pistons (11, 12) are positioned perpendicularly to the plane of symmetry (20) between the crankshafts (1, 2).

L'invention concerne un moteur à combustion interne à pistons opposés devant être relié à au moins un générateur comprenant au moins deux cylindres (9, 10) pourvus de pistons opposés en concordance de phase (11, 12), de bielles (7, 8) et de vilebrequins parallèles (1, 2) reliés entre eux par des engrenages (3, 4) de même diamètre et de sens de rotation opposés. Le premier vilebrequin (1) est accouplé au premier générateur (5) et le second vilebrequin (2) est accouplé au second générateur (6) et/ou à un volant d'inertie (18). Pour obtenir un équilibre optimal de rotation ainsi que de masses coulissantes et de leurs effets, le moment d'inertie du premier ensemble vilebrequin (1) est égal au moment d'inertie du second (2), et les cylindres (9, 10) avec des pistons opposés en concordance de phase (11, 12) sont positionnés perpendiculairement au plan de symétrie (20) entre les vilebrequins (1, 2).
