A method of manufacturing a polymer dispersed liquid crystal, PDLC, film, the method comprising: forming a region of liquid polymer (206) on a substrate (212); depositing one or more liquid crystal, LC, formulations (214) into the liquid polymer; and thereafter curing (234) the liquid polymer (206) to thereby induce phase separation between the polymer (206) and the liquid crystal formulations (214), resulting in PDLC pixels (236) which are phase separated from the surrounding, cured polymer - thereby producing a PDLC film.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un film de cristaux liquides dispersés dans un polymère (PDLC), le procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à former une région de polymère liquide (206) sur un substrat (212) ; déposer une ou plusieurs formulations de cristaux liquides (LC) (214) dans le polymère liquide ; et ensuite durcir (234) le polymère liquide (206) pour ainsi induire une séparation de phase entre le polymère (206) et les formulations de cristaux liquides (214), conduisant à des pixels PDLC (236) séparés en phases du polymère durci environnant, produisant ainsi un film PDLC.
