Abstract

The present invention relates to supporting an interventional procedure involving a device, such as a cardiovascular procedure. First and second image data acquired using different imaging apparatus, for example X-ray and ultrasound image data, are co-registered. A device is firstly identified in 2D X-ray images; corresponding identification information is then used to generate a view from 3D ultrasound image data that includes a cross-section of the device to be identified subsequently. Following the identification, a 3D position and orientation of the device are available. Such information may advantageously be used in setting up optimal ultrasound views for image-based guidance of the ongoing procedure.

La présente invention concerne le soutien à une intervention impliquant un dispositif, comme une intervention cardiovasculaire. Des première et seconde données d'image acquises à l'aide de différents appareils d'imagerie, par exemple des données d'images radiographiques et ultrasonores, sont co-enregistrées. Un dispositif est d'abord identifié dans des images radiographiques bidimensionnelles ; des informations d'identification correspondantes sont ensuite utilisées pour générer une vue à partir de données d'image ultrasonore tridimensionnelle qui comprennent une section transversale du dispositif à identifier ultérieurement. Après l'identification, une position et une orientation tridimensionnelles du dispositif sont disponibles. De telles informations peuvent avantageusement être utilisées pour établir des vues ultrasonores optimales pour un guidage basé sur image de l'intervention en cours.
