Abstract

The present invention relates to a polymer composition, especially for pipe, and a process for making the composition. This process for making a polymer composition for pipe comprises polymerizing ethylene in at least two slurry reactors and at least one gas phase reactor connected in series, whereby the polyethylene composition comprises a) an ethylene copolymer as fraction (A), and b) an ethylene homo- or copolymer as fraction (B), with fraction (A) having a lower molecular weight than fraction (B), wherein a single-site catalyst (SSC) is used in the polymerisation of at least one of fractions (A) and/or (B), the composition having (i) a density of between 932 and 955 kg/m3, and (ii) a MFR5 (at 190°C / 5.00 kg) of between 0.5 and 3.5 g/10 min, wherein fraction (A) comprises two fractions (A1) and (A"), whereby fraction (A1) is produced in a first slurry loop reactor and fraction (A") is produced in a second loop reactor.

La présente invention concerne une composition polymère, en particulier pour tuyau, et un procédé de préparation de la composition. Ledit procédé de préparation d'une composition polymère pour tuyau consiste à polymériser de l'éthylène dans au moins deux réacteurs en suspension et au moins un réacteur en phase gazeuse reliés en série, la composition de polyéthylène comprenant a) un copolymère d'éthylène en tant que fraction (A), et b) un homopolymère ou un copolymère d'éthylène en tant que fraction (B), la fraction (A) ayant un poids moléculaire inférieur à celui de la fraction (B), un catalyseur à site unique (SSC) étant utilisé dans la polymérisation d'au moins une des fractions (A) et/ou (B), la composition ayant (i) une masse volumique comprise entre 932 et 955 kg/m3, et (ii) un MFR5 (à 190 °C/5,00 kg) compris entre 0,5 et 3,5 g/10 min, la fraction (A) comprenant deux fractions (A1) et (A"), la fraction (A1) étant produite dans un premier réacteur à boucle de suspension et la fraction (A") étant produite dans un second réacteur à boucle.
