Abstract
(EN)
The presently claimed invention provides a continuous process for preparing a polyurethane composition which behaves as a rheology modifier upon addition to paint and coating formulations. The present process employs mixers for homogenization of highly viscous polyurethane polymers and by adjusting the process parameters and reactor conditions in specified ranges obtained a polyurethane composition. The polyurethane composition obtained from the process of the present invention is used as thickener in water-borne paint and coating formulations.

La présente invention concerne un procédé continu de préparation d'une composition de polyuréthane qui se comporte comme un modificateur de rhéologie lors de l'addition à des formulations de peinture et de revêtement. Le procédé selon l'invention utilise des mélangeurs pour l'homogénéisation de polymères de polyuréthane hautement visqueux et permet d'obtenir la composition de polyuréthane en ajustant les paramètres du procédé et les conditions du réacteur dans des plages spécifiées. La composition de polyuréthane obtenue à partir du procédé selon la présente invention est utilisée comme épaississant dans des formulations aqueuses de peinture et de revêtement.
