Beschrieben wird ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen des Volumens einer Flüssigkeit (5), das Verfahren umfasst die Schritte: a) Bereitstellen einer Flüssigkeitsaufnahmeschicht, die eine Oberfläche (4) aufweist, b) Abgeben eines gewünschten Volumens der Flüssigkeit (5) aus einer Abgabeeinrichtung auf die Oberfläche (4) der Flüssigkeitsaufnahmeschicht, wobei durch ein Adsorbieren der Flüssigkeit (5) von der Flüssigkeitsaufnahmeschicht ein Fleck (6) auf der Oberfläche (4) der Flüssigkeitsaufnahmeschicht entsteht, wobei der Fleck (6) unterschiedliche optische Eigenschaften als von der Flüssigkeit (5) freie Bereiche der Flüssigkeitsaufnahmeschicht hat, c) Aufnehmen eines Bildes des Flecks (6), d) Bestimmen des Flächeninhalts des Flecks (6), und e) Rückschließen aus dem Flächeninhalt des Flecks (6) auf das tatsächliche Volumen der in Schritt b) abgegebenen Flüssigkeit (5). Des Weiteren wird ein Pipettierroboter, der zur Durchführung des Verfahrens eingerichtet ist, beschrieben.

The invention relates to a method for determining the volume of a liquid (5), said method comprising the steps: a) providing a liquid receiving layer, which has a surface (4), b) dispensing a desired volume of the liquid (5) from a dispensing device onto the surface (4) of the liquid receiving layer, wherein a spot (6) is created on the surface (4) of the liquid receiving layer as a result of the liquid (5) being adsorbed by the liquid receiving layer, and the spot (6) has different optical properties as compared to regions of the liquid receiving layer that are free of the liquid (5), c) recording an image of the spot (6), d) determining the surface area of the spot (6), and e) drawing a conclusion, based on the surface area of the spot (6), about the actual volume of the liquid (5) dispensed in step b). The invention furthermore relates to a pipetting robot designed to carry out the method.

L'invention concerne un procédé de détermination du volume d'un liquide (5). Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à : a) fournir une couche d'absorption de liquide, qui comporte une surface (4) ; b) distribuer un volume souhaité du liquide (5) provenant d'un dispositif de distribution sur la surface (4) de la couche d'absorption de liquide, une adsorption du liquide (5) par la couche d'absorption de liquide laissant apparaître une tâche (6) à la surface (4) de la couche d'absorption de liquide, la tâche (6) ayant des propriétés optiques autres que celles des zones sans liquide (5) de la couche d'absorption de liquide ; c) prendre une image de la tâche (6) ; d) définir la superficie de la tâche (6) ; et e) déduire de la superficie de la tâche (6) le volume réel du liquide (5) distribué lors de l'étape b). Par ailleurs, l'invention décrit un robot de pipettage mis au point pour mettre en œuvre le procédé.
