Die Erfindung betrifft eine modulare Schaltvorrichtung (10) zum Ansteuern wenigstens eines elektrischen Antriebs (120), wobei die modulare Schaltvorrichtung (10) ein Tragschienenbussystem (80) mit einer Steuerleitung (81) und zwei Energieversorgungsleitungen (82, 83), eine Energieversorgungseinrichtung (20) und ein Sicherheitsrelaismodul (30) aufweist, welches dazu ausgebildet ist, ein erstes Steuersignal mit einem High-Pegel aus einer an den beiden Energieversorgungsleitungen (82, 83) anliegenden Versorgungsgleichspannung zu gewinnen und das erste Steuersignal über die erste Bus-Schnittstelle (50) der Steuerleitung (81) zuzuführen, wenn die Not-Halt-Befehlseinrichtung (40) nicht betätigt worden ist. Weiterhin ist wenigstens ein sicheres Motorstartermodul (60) vorgesehen, das eine Verarbeitungseinrichtung (64) mit einem Eingang, der elektrisch über eine Bus-Schnittstelle (90) mit der Steuerleitung (81) verbindbar ist, aufweist. Die Verarbeitungseinrichtung (64) ist dazu ausgebildet, ein über die Steuerleitung (81) übertragenes erstes Steuersignal mit einem High-Pegel auszuwerten und Steuersignale zum Ansteuern der wenigstens zwei Schalteinrichtungen (101, 102) bereitzustellen.
