Abstract

There is described a non-invasive electricity monitoring device comprising a housing having an opening configured to receive an electricity cable. The non-invasive electricity monitoring device further comprises a conductive element and voltage sensing circuitry within the housing. The conductive element is configured to contact and conform to an external surface of the received cable to enable capacitive coupling between the conductive element and the cable. The voltage sensing circuitry is configured to sense a voltage between the conductive element and a virtual ground located within the housing so as to determine a phase of the sensed voltage. A method for non-invasive electricity monitoring is also described.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de surveillance d'électricité non invasive comprenant un boîtier possédant une ouverture configurée pour recevoir un câble électrique. Le dispositif de surveillance d'électricité non invasive comprend en outre un élément conducteur et une circuiterie de mesure de tension située à l'intérieur du boîtier. L'élément conducteur est configuré pour entrer en contact avec une surface externe du câble reçu et épouser sa forme, et pour permettre un couplage capacitif entre l'élément conducteur et le câble. La circuiterie de mesure de tension est configurée pour mesurer une tension entre l'élément conducteur et une masse virtuelle située à l'intérieur du boîtier de façon à déterminer une phase de la tension détectée. L’invention concerne également un procédé de surveillance d'électricité non invasive.
