Bei einem Verfahren zum Stumpfstoßschweißen zweier insbesondere plattenförmiger Werkstücke (2) aus Glas, insbesondere Quarzglas, mittels eines gepulsten Laserstrahls (3), insbesondere UKP-Laserstrahls, der parallel zur Fügefläche (11) der beiden Werkstücke (2) in das Werkstückmaterial eingestrahlt wird und der im Bereich der Fügefläche (11) in das Werkstückmaterial fokussiert wird, um die beiden Werkstücke (2) im Bereich ihrer Fügefläche (11) lokal aufzuschmelzen, wird erfindungsgemäß der Laserfokus (F) des in das Werkstückmaterial fokussierten Laserstrahls (3) in oder entgegen der Strahlrichtung (12) des Laserstrahls (3) bewegt, um im Bereich der Fügefläche (11) eine sich entlang der Strahlrichtung (12) erstreckende Schweißnaht (13) zu erzeugen.

The invention relates to a method for butt-joint welding two workpieces (2), in particular panel-shaped workpieces, which are made of glass, in particular quartz glass, using a pulsed laser beam (3), in particular a UKP laser beam, which is emitted into the workpiece material parallel to the joint surface (11) of the two workpieces (2) and which is focused into the workpiece material in the region of the joint surface (11) in order to locally melt the two workpieces (2) in the region of the workpiece joint surface (11). Dans un procédé de soudage bout à bout de deux pièces (2) en verre, notamment du verre de silice , en particulier de forme plate, au moyen d'un faisceau laser (3) pulsé, en particulier un faisceau laser à impulsions ultracourtes qui est irradié dans le matériau de la pièce parallèlement à la surface de jonction (11) des deux pièces (2) et qui est focalisé dans le matériau de la pièce dans la zone de la surface de jonction (11), afin de faire fondre localement les deux pièces (2) dans la zone de leur surface de jonction (11), selon l'invention, la focalisation (F) du faisceau laser (3) focalisé dans le matériau de la pièce se déplace dans la direction (12) ou dans la direction opposée du faisceau (3) afin de produire un cordon de soudure (13) s'étendant dans la zone de la surface de jonction (11) le long de la direction (12) du faisceau.
