Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Brennkraftmaschine umfassend einen Saugbereich (2), ein Kurbelgehäuse (3), eine Verbindungsleitung (4), welche das Kurbelgehäuse (3) mit dem Saugbereich (2) verbindet, ein in der Verbindungsleitung (4) angeordnetes Rückschlagventil (5), einen Differenzdrucksensor (6), welcher an einem Leitungsstück (40) an der Verbindungleitung (4) angeordnet ist und welcher eingerichtet ist, einen Differenzdruck über das Leitungsstück (40) zu bestimmen, und eine Steuereinheit (7), welche eingerichtet ist, basierend auf dem erfassten Differenzdruck des Differenzdrucksensors (6) zu bestimmen, ob das Kurbelgehäuse (3) und/oder die Verbindungsleitung (4) ein Leck zur Umgebung aufweist.
