A color filter substrate (1) and a display device (2), wherein the color filter substrate (1) comprises a base substrate (11), a black matrix (12) provided on the base substrate (11), and multiple pixel units (13) arranged in the black matrix (12); and each pixel unit (13) comprises multiple columns, and each pixel unit (13) comprises a first sub-pixel (131), a second sub-pixel (132) and a third sub-pixel (133) arranged at intervals, characterized in that the first subpixel (131), the second subpixel (132) and the third subpixel (133) each have an opening area (14), and the proportion in which the black matrix (12) blocks the pixel unit (13) in the first column and the last column is greater than the proportion in which the black matrix (12) blocks the pixel unit (13) in the remaining columns. In this way, the black matrix (12) blocking the opening areas (14) of the pixels on both side edges of the display device (2) effectively ameliorates the phenomenon where the pixels on the both side edges of the display device (2) have different colors when displaying a pure picture.
