An adjustable optic device includes (a) a counter electrode; (b) a working electrode having an arrangement of nanostructured electrodeposition sites; (c) a framework separating the counter electrode from the working electrode; and (d) an electrolyte medium between the counter and working electrodes for conducting ions therebetween. The working electrode is reversibly transitionable from a stripped state toward a plated state when a plating charge voltage is applied across the working and counter electrodes to induce nanoplating at the electrodeposition sites with ions from the electrolyte medium. When in the stripped state, the working electrode is generally transparent. When the working electrode is in the plated state, the electrodeposition sites are nanoplated with ions from the electrolyte medium to adjust one or more optical properties for at least a portion of the passage relative to the stripped state.

L'invention concerne un dispositif optique réglable comprenant (a) une contre-électrode ; (b) une électrode de travail ayant un agencement de sites d'électrodéposition nanostructurés ; (c) un cadre séparant la contre-électrode de l'électrode de travail ; et (d) un milieu d'électrolyte entre le compteur et les électrodes de travail pour conduire des ions entre ceux-ci. L'électrode de travail peut passer de manière réversible d'un état dénudé à un état plaqué lorsqu'une tension de charge de plaquage est appliquée à travers l'électrode de travail et la contre-électrode pour induire un nanoplaquage au niveau des sites d'électrodéposition avec des ions provenant du milieu d'électrolyte.
