Lined pipelines (82) with different inner diameters are spooled successively onto a reel while their constituent pipe stalks are cyclically pressurised internally to combat wrinkling of the liner. A first, variable diameter pig (34) is advanced to a trailing end of a first pipeline. A transition joint (84) is attached to the trailing end of the first pipeline to effect a transition from the inner diameter of the first pipeline to the different inner diameter of a second pipeline. A leading end of the second pipeline, containing a second pig (80), is attached to the transition joint. The first pig is driven through the transition joint into the second pipeline. The diameter of the first pig changes to match the inner diameter of the second pipeline. The first and second pigs are then driven along the second pipeline when assembling the second pipeline from a succession of pipe stalks.

Selon la présente invention, des canalisations doublées (82) ayant des diamètres internes différents sont enroulées successivement sur une bobine tandis que leurs tiges de tuyau constitutives sont pressurisées de manière cyclique à l'intérieur pour lutter contre le plissement de la doublure. Un premier racleur de diamètre variable (34) est avancé jusqu'à une extrémité arrière d'une première canalisation. Un joint de transition (84) est fixé à l'extrémité arrière de la première canalisation pour effectuer une transition du diamètre interne de la première canalisation au diamètre interne différent d'une seconde canalisation. Une extrémité avant de la seconde canalisation, contenant un second racleur (80), est fixée au joint de transition. Le premier racleur est entraîné à travers le joint de transition dans la seconde canalisation. Le diamètre du premier racleur change pour correspondre au diamètre interne de la seconde canalisation. Les premier et second racleurs sont ensuite entraînés le long de la seconde canalisation lors de l'assemblage de la seconde canalisation à partir d'une succession de tiges de tuyau.
