Abstract

A bicycle (1) has an instant centre (IC) and including separate front and rear frames (2,3). The front frame (2) is supported by a front wheel (6b) and the rear frame (3) is supported by a rear wheel (6a) rotatable about a rear hub (9). A set of pivoting members (4) connect the front and rear frames (2,3) through pivotal connections (11a-b,13a-c,21a-b,23-24) and a biased dampening device (16). The pivoting members (4) include a lower member (22) extending from a first lower join (21) a to a second lower join (21b), and a mid member (20) extending from a forward mid pivot (24) to a rear mid pivot (23). The forward mid pivot (24) and the second lower join (21b) are connected to the front frame (2) at pivots 21b, (24) with fixed axes relative to the front frame (2). The instant centre (IC) moves rearwardly and downwardly from a first resting position to a second activated position, through a path (50) intersecting the forward mid pivot (24) and a substantially horizontal cylindrical footprint corresponding to the axial bore of the forward mid pivot (24).

La présente invention concerne une bicyclette (1) présentant un centre instantané (IC) et comprenant des cadres avant et arrière séparés (2,3). Le cadre avant (2) est supporté par une roue avant (6b) et le cadre arrière (3) est supporté par une roue arrière (6a) pouvant tourner autour d'un moyeu arrière (9). Un ensemble d'éléments pivotants (4) raccorde les cadres avant et arrière (2, 3) par l'intermédiaire de raccords pivotants (11a-b, 13a-c, 21a-b, 23-24) et d'un dispositif d'amortissement sollicité (16).
