The invention provides a friction bolt assembly (10) which includes an expansible tubular sleeve (12) having a longitudinally extending formation, about which the sleeve resiliently deforms; a rod (24) which longitudinally extends through the sleeve; an expansion element (36); a wedge formation (40) on an inside surface of the sleeve positioned to engage the expansion element; a load applicator (46), a load bearing washer (52) and a stop formation (72) engaged with the rod, within the sleeve, in a position which abuts the wedge formation, when an axially directed force is applied to an end (28) of the rod, to transfer the force to the sleeve to pull the sleeve along with the rod; and which holds the sleeve in position, relatively to the rod, when the load applicator is actuated to draw the expansion element into the sleeve to radially expand the sleeve.

L'invention concerne un ensemble boulon à haute résistance (10) qui comprend un manchon tubulaire expansible (12) ayant une formation s'étendant longitudinalement, autour de laquelle le manchon se déforme élastiquement ; une tige (24) qui s'étend longitudinalement à travers le manchon ; un élément d'expansion (36) ; une formation de coin (40) sur une surface intérieure du manchon positionnée pour venir en prise avec l'élément d'expansion ; un applicateur de charge (46), une rondelle de support de charge (52) et une formation de butée (72) en prise avec la tige, à l'intérieur du manchon, dans une position qui vient en butée contre la formation de coin, lorsqu'une force dirigée axialement est appliquée à une extrémité (28) de la tige, pour transférer la force au manchon afin de tirer le manchon conjointement avec la tige ; et qui maintient le manchon en position, par rapport à la tige, lorsque l'applicateur de charge est actionné pour tirer l'élément d'expansion dans le manchon afin d'étendre radialement le manchon.
