Abstract

A percussion side wall core (PSWC) bullet has a central axis, a leading end, and a trailing end axially opposite the leading end. In addition, the bullet includes a first portion extending axially from the leading end of the bullet. Further, the bullet includes a second portion removably coupled to the first portion. The second portion extends axially from the trailing end of the bullet. The bullet also includes a sleeve removably positioned in the first portion. The sleeve includes an inner cavity configured to receive a core sample.

Selon l'invention, un projectile de carottage latéral par percussion (PSWC) présente un axe central, une extrémité avant et une extrémité arrière axialement opposée à l'extrémité avant. De plus, le projectile comprend une première partie qui s'étend axialement de l'extrémité avant du projectile. Le projectile comprend en outre une seconde partie couplée amovible à la première partie. La seconde partie s'étend axialement de l'extrémité arrière du projectile. Le projectile comprend également un manchon positionné amovible dans la première partie. Le manchon comporte une cavité interne conçue pour recevoir un échantillon de carotte.
