Abstract

The invention is directed to a controlled-release device for horticulture such as a plant pot, rod, stick, tablet, coating or the like, said device comprising a biodegradable composition comprising a bioactive component and a biodegradable matrix, wherein the biodegradable matrix comprises a natural polymer (e.g. a polymeric carbohydrate) and a biopolyester. The invention is further directed to a method for preparing the biodegradable controlled-release device by: a) providing a masterbatch comprising the biopolyester and the bioactive component and compounding said masterbatch; followed by b) blending the compounded masterbatch with a biodegradable compound comprising the polymeric carbohydrate to provide a dry blend and processing said dry blend to provide the device.

L'invention concerne un dispositif à libération contrôlée destiné à l'horticulture tel qu'un pot de plante, une tige, un bâton, un comprimé, un revêtement ou similaire, ledit dispositif comprenant une composition biodégradable comprenant un constituant bioactif et une matrice biodégradable, la matrice biodégradable comprenant un polymère naturel (par exemple un glucide polymère) et un biopolyester. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé destiné à la préparation du dispositif biodégradable à libération contrôlée par : a) la fourniture d'un mélange maître comprenant le biopolyester et le constituant bioactif et le malaxage dudit mélange maître ; puis b) le mélange du mélange maître malaxé avec un composé biodégradable comprenant le glucide polymère en vue de fournir un mélange sec et le traitement dudit mélange sec en vue de fournir le dispositif.
