According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of preparing a noble metal nanoparticle coated spun fiber. The method comprises the steps of providing a solution of noble metal ions, providing an aqueous dispersion of a cellulosic pulp, contacting the dispersion of cellulosic pulp with the solution of noble metal ions and mixing to provide a slurry, heat treating the slurry in a hydrothermal treatment at a temperature in the range of 80 to 140 °C, for a period in the range of 60 to 180 minutes for reducing noble metal ions to noble metal nanoparticles on the surface of the cellulosic pulp, recovering a noble metal nanoparticle coated pulp, dissolving the noble metal nanoparticle coated pulp in an solvent to form a dope, and spinning fibers comprising noble metal nanoparticles from the dope.

Selon un aspect, la présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'une fibre filée revêtue de nanoparticules de métal noble. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à fournir une solution d'ions de métal noble, à fournir une dispersion aqueuse d'une pâte cellulosique, à mettre en contact la dispersion de la pâte cellulosique avec la solution d'ions de métal noble et à réaliser un mélange pour obtenir une suspension, à traiter thermiquement la suspension dans un traitement hydrothermique à une température allant de 80 à 140 °C, pendant une période allant de 60 à 180 minutes pour réduire les ions de métal noble en nanoparticules de métal noble sur la surface de la pâte cellulosique, à récupérer une pâte revêtue de nanoparticules de métal noble, à dissoudre la pâte revêtue de nanoparticules de métal noble dans un solvant pour former un dopant, et à filer les fibres comprenant des nanoparticules de métal noble à partir du dopant.
