Abstract

The invention provides amethod of reducing or eliminating the content of triterpenes and/or triterpenoids of latex or rubber from a laticiferous plant or part thereof, comprising genetically modifying the laticiferous plant or part thereof, such that the activity of at least one oxidosqualene cyclase is reduced or eliminated, compared to the respective wild-type or untreated laticiferous plant or part thereof. The invention further provides a laticiferous plant or part thereof being genetically modified such that the activity of at least one oxidosqualene cyclase is reduced or eliminated, compared to the respective wild-type or untreated laticiferous plant or part thereof, and an RNAi being specifically directed against a mRNA transcript of at least one oxidosqualene cyclase, for use in a method of reducing or eliminating the content of triterpenes and/or triterpenoidsof latex or rubber from a laticiferous plant or part thereof.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de réduction ou d'élimination de la teneur en triterpènes et/ou triterpénoïdes de latex ou de caoutchouc à partir d'une plante laticifère ou d'une de ses parties, comprenant la modification génétique de la plante laticifère ou d'une de ses parties, de sorte que l'activité d'au moins une oxydosqualène cyclase soit réduite ou supprimée, par comparaison avec la plante laticifère de type sauvage ou non traitée respective ou l'une de ses parties. L'invention concerne en outre une plante laticifère ou l'une de ses parties génétiquement modifiée, de telle sorte que l'activité d'au moins une oxydosqualène cyclase est réduite ou supprimée, par comparaison avec la plante laticifère de type sauvage ou non traitée respective ou avec l'une de ses parties, et une iARN visant spécifiquement un transcrit d'ARNm d'au moins une oxydosqualène cyclase, destinée à être utilisé dans un procédé de réduction ou d'élimination de la teneur en triterpènes et/ou triterpénoïdes de latex ou de caoutchouc à partir d'une plante laticifère ou d'une de ses parties.
