The invention relates to a dielectric barrier VUV excimer lamp (1) comprising an elgonated dielectric tube (3) for holding an excimer-forming gas (5), a first electrode (2) disposed within said tube (3), a second electrode (4) arranged outside of said tube, wherein said first electrode (2) is - a wire electrode disposed along a centre axis of the dielectric tube (3), - axially smmetric with respect to the centre axis and - physically connected to each end of the dielectric tube (3).

L'invention concerne une lampe à excimère à ultraviolet du vide (VUV) à barrière diélectrique (1) comprenant un tube diélectrique (3) diélectrique pour contenir un gaz de formation d'excimères (5), une première électrode (2) disposée à l'intérieur dudit tube (3), une seconde électrode (4) disposée à l'extérieur dudit tube, ladite première électrode (2) étant - une électrode de fil disposée le long d'un axe central du tube diélectrique (3),- symétrique axialement par rapport à l'axe central et - connectée physiquement à chaque extrémité du tube diélectrique (3).
