Provided is a polypeptide unit (U) or a polypeptide complex unit (PU) for prolonging the biological activity and half-life of a protein or polypeptide or improving the in vivo and in vitro properties thereof, the polypeptide unit (U) being mainly composed of proline (P), alanine (A) and glutamic acid (E), the PU containing a plurality of Us. Also provided is a biologically active fusion protein, comprising the polypeptide unit (U) or the polypeptide complex unit (PU) and an active protein or polypeptide connected thereto.
