The apparatus sends a request from a medium access control (MAC) layer to at least one of a Physical (PHY) Layer or a radio frequency (RF) component using an application protocol interface (API) and receives a response message from the at least one of the PHY layer or the RF component comprising an hierarchical indication of at least one capability of the PHY layer or the RF component using the API. The apparatus may also configure the PHY layer or the RF component based on the at least one capability.

Selon l'invention, un appareil envoie une demande depuis une couche de commande d'accès au support (MAC) vers une couche physique (PHY) et/ou un composant radiofréquence (RF) utilisant une interface de protocole d'application (API) et reçoit un message de réponse depuis la couche PHY et/ou le composant RF comprenant une indication hiérarchique d'au moins une capacité de la couche PHY ou du composant RF utilisant l'API. L'appareil peut également configurer la couche PHY ou le composant RF sur la base de la ou des capacités.
