Abstract

A user equipment (UE) may monitor multiple beam pair links (BPLs) including a first BPL currently used by the UE to communicate with a network node (e.g., a base station), and a second BPL. The first BPL comprises a first network beam and a first UE beam, and the second BPL comprises a second network beam and a second UE beam. The UE may decide to switch beams from using the first BPL to using the second BPL based on signaling from the network node or autonomously. When the beam switch is made, the UE switches uplink (UL) transmission from over the first UE beam to over the second UE beam. After the beam switch is made, the UE transmits in the UL over the second UE beam using UL timing adjusted based on the first and second propagation delays.

Selon la présente invention, un équipement utilisateur (UE) peut surveiller une pluralité de liaisons de paires de faisceaux (BPL) comprenant une première BPL couramment utilisée par l'UE pour communiquer avec un nœud de réseau (une station de base, par ex.), et une seconde BPL. La première BPL comprend un premier faisceau de réseau et un premier faisceau d'UE, et la seconde BPL comprend un second faisceau de réseau et un second faisceau d'UE. L'UE peut décider de commuter l'utilisation de faisceaux, de la première BPL à la seconde BPL, sur la base d'une signalisation émise par le nœud de réseau ou de manière autonome. Lorsque la commutation de faisceau est décidée, l'UE commute une transmission de liaison montante (UL), du premier faisceau d'UE au second faisceau d'UE.
