Systems and methods described herein allow for reliable and computationally efficient detection of fluid leak events or abnormal fluid usage/flow events. A fluid flow meter can measure fluid flow parameter values during a training phase. The fluid flow meter can generate, using the fluid flow parameter data, a training fluid flow duration pattern indicative of, for each value range of a plurality of value ranges of a respective time threshold value. The time threshold value can represent an estimate of a maximum fluid flow duration, within a given fluid flow event, for fluid flow associated with the corresponding value range. During a detection phase, the fluid flow meter can determine, for a value range, a respective fluid flow duration within a current fluid flow event. The fluid flow meter can detect a leak event upon the fluid flow duration exceeds the time threshold value for the same value range.

Les systèmes et les procédés décrits dans la présente invention permettent une détection fiable et efficace du point de vue informatique d'événements de fuite de fluide ou d'événements d'usage/d'écoulement de fluide anormaux. Un débitmètre de fluide peut mesurer des valeurs de paramètre de débit de fluide au cours d'une phase d'entraînement. Le débitmètre de fluide peut générer, à l'aide des données de paramètre de débit de fluide, un motif de durée de débit de fluide d'entraînement indiquant, pour chaque plage de valeurs d'une pluralité de plages de valeurs, une valeur seuil de temps respective. La valeur seuil de temps peut représenter une estimation d'une durée maximale de débit de fluide, à l'intérieur d'un événement de débit de fluide donné, pour un débit de fluide associé à la plage de valeurs correspondante. Le débitmètre de fluide peut détecter un événement de fuite lorsque la durée de débit de fluide dépasse la valeur seuil de temps pour la même plage de valeurs.
