During recent years, chip-based payment has been changing from mainly physical, like a chipcard, to mainly virtual, such as a software application on a mobile device. Although such mobile devices are very powerful compared to a conventional chip card, the data interactions with POI terminals must still be compliant with the EMV specifications and standards. A computer-implemented payment transaction method is provided comprising: providing a standard EMV Contactless payment transaction protocol POI terminal, receiving from the user interface a selection of either the first or second payment application and modifying the PPSE accordingly; continuing, by the POI terminal, said EMV-compliant payment transaction by selecting the modified PPSE of the identification device; and selecting, by the POI terminal, the user-selected payment application to continue the payment transaction. By implementing such a function selection, new non-EMV compliant functionalities may be quickly added to existing payment-system specific kernels. In addition, by restarting the existing payment transaction instead of starting a new one, it may be quickly restarted using the same amount and the same currency without the need of any merchant interaction. By using existing mechanism already present in the EMV specifications and protocols, Users are given a higher degree of control over the payment applications used to complete payment transactions, and unexpected payments and/or unexpected terminations of payments are less likely to occur when a conflict arises between the contents of the PPSE and the POI terminal capabilities.

Au cours de ces dernières années, le paiement à base de puce est passé d'un état principalement physique, tel qu'une carte à puce, à une application principalement virtuelle, telle qu'une application logicielle sur un dispositif mobile. Bien que de tels dispositifs mobiles soient très puissants par rapport à une carte à puce classique, les interactions de données avec des terminaux POI doivent toujours être conformes aux spécifications et normes EMV. L'invention concerne un procédé de transaction de paiement mis en œuvre par ordinateur comprenant : la fourniture d'un terminal POI de protocole de transaction de paiement sans contact EMV standard, la réception en provenance de l'interface utilisateur d'une sélection de la première ou de la seconde application de paiement et la modification du PPSE en conséquence ; la poursuite, par le terminal POI, de ladite transaction de paiement conforme EMV par la sélection du PPSE modifié du dispositif d'identification ; et la sélection, par le terminal POI, de l'application de paiement sélectionnée par l'utilisateur pour poursuivre la transaction de paiement. En mettant en œuvre une telle sélection de fonction, de nouvelles fonctionnalités qui ne sont pas compatibles EMV peuvent être rapidement ajoutées à des noyaux spécifiques de système de paiement existants. De plus, en redémarrant la transaction de paiement existante au lieu de démarrer une nouvelle transaction, elle peut être redémarrée rapidement à l'aide de la même quantité et de la même devise sans avoir besoin d'une quelconque interaction de commerçant. En utilisant des mécanismes existants déjà présents dans les spécifications et les protocoles EMV, les utilisateurs ont un degré de commande plus élevé sur les applications de paiement utilisées pour effectuer des transactions de paiement, et des paiements inattendus et/ou des terminaisons inattendues de paiements sont moins susceptibles de se produire lorsqu'un conflit survient entre le contenu du PPSE et les capacités de terminal POI.
