Abstract

A medical device for lay rescuers and first aiders as part of "survival chain" in cardiac arrest scenario. The device gives audible feedback to its user regarding the adequate chest compression depth, based on American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. In addition, it raises user's sense of capability and confidence in cases of cardiac emergencies.

L'invention concerne un dispositif médical destiné à des sauveteurs et secouristes inexpérimentés dans le cadre d'une « chaîne de survie » dans un scénario d'arrêt cardiaque. Le dispositif fournit une rétroaction sonore à son utilisateur concernant la profondeur de compression thoracique adéquate, selon les directives de l'American Heart Association (AHA). De plus, il accroît le sentiment de capacité et de confiance de l'utilisateur dans des cas d'urgences cardiaques.
