Abstract

A method and apparatus is provided for generating a channel state information report. The method includes receiving (502) reference signals transmitted from a base station. A set of beams are selected (504) based on the received reference signals, each of the beams corresponding to a discrete Fourier transform vector, wherein each of the beams has a corresponding beam index. A set of quantized weighting coefficients are reported (506), each of the weighting coefficients corresponding to a respective beam index and a respective tap index. The tap index corresponds to a member of a Fourier basis set (508). At least two subsets of the reported set of weighting coefficients are quantized according to separate quantization procedures (510).

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour générer un rapport d'informations d'état de canal. Le procédé comprend les étapes suivantes : recevoir (502) des signaux de référence transmis par une station de base ; sélectionner un ensemble de faisceaux (504) sur la base des signaux de référence reçus, chacun des faisceaux correspondant à un vecteur de transformée de Fourier discrète, chacun des faisceaux comportant un indice de faisceau correspondant ; rapporter un ensemble de coefficients de pondération quantifiés (506), chacun des coefficients de pondération correspondant à un indice de faisceau respectif et un indice de branchement respectif ; l'indice de branchement correspond à un élément d'un ensemble de bases de Fourier (508) ; quantifier au moins deux sous-ensembles de l'ensemble rapporté de coefficients de pondération selon des procédures de quantification distinctes (510).
