Abstract

Disclosed herein are a device and a method for synthesizing diamond. The device comprises an inner capsule containing a buffer medium for stabilizing a hydrogen fugacity, the inner capsule consisting of a hydrogen-permeable material; an outer capsule enclosing the inner capsule, wherein the outer capsule contains a reaction medium containing reactants for a chemical reaction yielding diamond; and a pressure medium surrounding the outer capsule, wherein the pressure medium is configured to transfer a pressure applied to an outer surface of the pressure medium to an outer surface of the outer capsule and wherein the pressure medium is further configured to inhibit hydrogen exchange through the pressure medium at a temperature of the pressure medium and a pressure applied to the pressure medium that are required to transform the reaction medium to a supercritical phase.

L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé de synthèse de diamant. Le dispositif comprend une capsule interne contenant un milieu tampon pour stabiliser une fugacité d'hydrogène, la capsule interne étant constituée d'un matériau perméable à l'hydrogène; une capsule externe renfermant la capsule interne, la capsule externe contenant un milieu réactionnel contenant des réactifs pour un diamant produisant une réaction chimique; et un milieu sous pression entourant la capsule externe, le milieu sous pression étant configuré pour transférer une pression appliquée à une surface externe du milieu sous pression à une surface externe de la capsule externe et le milieu sous pression étant en outre configuré pour inhiber l'échange d'hydrogène à travers le milieu sous pression à une température du milieu sous pression et une pression appliquée au milieu sous pression qui sont nécessaires pour transformer le milieu de réaction en une phase supercritique.
