Zum Zwecke einer Erhöhung der Festigkeit einer Karosserie (10) eines instrumententafellosen Kraftfahrzeuges (1) ist ein gasbefüllbares Stützmittel (50) vorgesehen, das mit mindestens einem Gasgenerator (55) wirkverbunden ist, und das eingerichtet ist, an einer Karosserie (10) eines Kraftfahrzeuges (1) befestigt zu werden und sich über eine Länge in Querrichtung (Q) der Karosserie (10) zu erstrecken, wobei das Stützmittel (50) einen ersten, vor Auslösen des Gasgenerators (55) bestehenden Betriebszustand mit einem ersten Volumen und einen zweiten, nach Auslösen des Gasgenerators (55) bestehenden Betriebszustand mit einem zweiten Volumen aufweist, das größer als das erste Volumen ist, und wobei die mechanische Festigkeit des Stützmittels (50) im zweiten Betriebszustand größer als im ersten Betriebszustand ist.

In order to increase the strength of the body (10) of an motor vehicle (1) without an instrument panel, a gas-fillable support means (50) is provided, which is operatively connected to at least one gas generator (55) and is designed to be fastened to the body (10) of a motor vehicle (1) and to extend over a length in the transverse direction (Q) of the body (10). L'invention concerne un moyen de support (50) pouvant être rempli de gaz. L'invention vise à augmenter la solidité d'une carrosserie (10) d'un véhicule automobile (1) sans tableau de bord. L'invention prévoit à cet effet un moyen de support (50), qui est en liaison fonctionnelle avec au moins un générateur de gaz (55) et qui est mis au point pour être fixé sur une carrosserie (10) d'un véhicule automobile (1) et pour s'étendre sur une longueur dans le sens transversal (Q) de la carrosserie (10). Le moyen de support (50) présente un premier état de fonctionnement existant avant le déclenchement du générateur de gaz (55), présentant un premier volume et un deuxième état de fonctionnement existant après le déclenchement du générateur de gaz (55), présentant un deuxième volume, qui est plus grand que le premier volume.
