Es wird eine Vorrichtung (1) zum automatisierten Entfernen eines Schutzfilms (7) von einer zu schützenden Oberfläche (9) eines optischen Bauelements (3) wie beispielsweise einer optischen Linse (5) beschrieben, wobei die Vorrichtung (1) aufweist: eine Halterung (11) zum Halten des optischen Bauelements (3); einen länglichen Stab (13); und eine Stabverlagerungseinrichtung (17), welche dazu konfiguriert ist, den Stab (13) von einem Rand (19) des in der Halterung (11) gehaltenen optischen Bauelements (3) kommend und um eine Längsachse des Stabs (13) rotierend in einer Verlagerungsrichtung (21) quer zu der Längsachse des Stabs (13) entlang vorzugsweise zumindest 20% einer Länge (l) der zu schützenden Oberfläche (9) zu verlagern und dabei vorzugsweise um mehr als 360° um seine Längsachse zu rotieren. Indem der längliche Stab (13) an einem Rand (19) des Schutzfilms (7) angeordnet und mit seiner Mantelfläche (25) an dem Rand (19) fixiert wird und anschließend der Stab (13) um eine Längsachse des Stabs (13) derart rotiert wird, dass der Schutzfilm (7) auf die Mantelfläche (25) des Stabs (13) aufgewickelt wird und der Schutzfilm (7) von der zu schützenden Oberfläche (9) des optischen Bauelements (3) abgezogen wird, kann der Schutzfilm (7) einfach und ohne hohen apparativen Aufwand entfernt werden.

An apparatus (1) for the automated removal of a protective film (7) from a surface (9) to be protected of an optical component (3), for example an optical lens (5), is described, wherein the apparatus (1) has: a mount (11) for holding the optical component (3); an elongate rod (13); and a rod displacement device (17), which is configured to displace the rod (13), coming from an edge (19) of the optical component (3) held in the mount (11) and rotating about a longitudinal axis of the rod (13), in a displacement direction (21) transverse to the longitudinal axis of the rod (13) along preferably at least 20% of a length (l) of the surface (9) to be protected and in the process to rotate said rod (13) preferably through more than 360° about its longitudinal axis. Since the elongate rod (13) is arranged at an edge (19) of the protective film (7) and is fixed to the edge (19) by way of its lateral surface (25) and subsequently the rod (13) is rotated about a longitudinal axis of the rod (13) such that the protective film (7) is wrapped around the lateral surface (25) of the rod (13) and the protective film (7) is removed from the surface (9) to be protected of the optical component (3), the protective film (7) can be removed easily and without high outlay on equipment.
