A method of coding video data, the method comprising determining K intra prediction modes, from among N total intra prediction modes, based on one or more of a width or a height of a block, wherein N is greater than or equal to K, determining an intra prediction mode for the block from the K intra prediction modes, and coding the block using the determined intra prediction mode. The N total intra prediction modes may include one or more wide angle intra prediction modes.

L'invention concerne un procédé de codage de données vidéo, le procédé consistant à déterminer K modes de prédiction intra, parmi N modes de prédiction intra totale, sur la base d'un ou plusieurs éléments parmi une largeur ou une hauteur d'un bloc, N étant supérieur ou égal à K, déterminer un mode de prédiction intra pour le bloc à partir des K modes de prédiction intra et coder le bloc à l'aide du mode de prédiction intra déterminé. Les N modes de prédiction intra totale peuvent comprendre un ou plusieurs modes de prédiction intra à angle large.
