An electromagnetic compatability (EMC) shield and a method of producing the same are disclosed. The EMC shield is for mounting to a substrate having a plurality of holes formed therein, such as a printed circuit board. The EMC shield is formed from a sheet of conductive metal and includes a top wall having opposing side portions. A pair of opposing first side walls are joined to the top wall at first bends, respectively. Each first side wall has a bottom portion with a plurality of mounting contacts extending therefrom. The mounting contacts may have a press-fit construction and are adapted for receipt in the holes of the substrate. The EMC shield further includes a pair of opposing second side walls, each of which is joined by a second bend to one of the first side walls. Each second side wall has a top portion that at least partially adjoins one of the side portions of the top wall.

La présente invention concerne un blindage de comptabilité électromagnétique (CEM) et son procédé de production. Le blindage CEM est destiné à être monté sur un substrat comportant une pluralité de trous formés à l'intérieur, tel qu'une carte de circuit imprimé. Le blindage CEM est formé à partir d'une feuille de métal conducteur et comprend une paroi supérieure munie de parties latérales opposées. Une paire de premières parois latérales opposées est reliée à la paroi supérieure au niveau de premiers coudes, respectivement. Chaque première paroi latérale comprend une partie inférieure comportant une pluralité de contacts de montage s'étendant à partir de celle-ci. Les contacts de montage peuvent présenter une construction à ajustement serré et sont conçus pour être reçus dans les trous du substrat. Le blindage CEM comprend en outre une paire de secondes parois latérales opposées, chacune d'elles étant jointe par un second coude à l'une des premières parois latérales. Chaque seconde paroi latérale comporte une partie supérieure qui est au moins partiellement adjacente à l'une des parties latérales de la paroi supérieure.
