The present invention relates to utilization of lanthanide time resolved fluorescence for determining concentration of trivalent metal ions in a sample. In the method sample comprising trivalent metal ions is admixed with a reagent comprising a lanthanide (lll) ion and a chelating agent. The trivalent metal ion in the sample is allowed to interact with the reagent comprising the lanthanide (lll) ion and the chelating agent, followed by exciting the sample and detecting a signal deriving from the lanthanide (lll) ion, and determining the concentration of the trivalent metal ion in the sample by using the detected signal.

La présente invention concerne l'utilisation de la fluorescence résolue dans le temps de lanthanides pour déterminer la concentration en ions métalliques trivalents dans un échantillon. Dans le procédé selon l'invention, l'échantillon comprenant des ions métalliques trivalents est mélangé avec un réactif comprenant un ion lanthanide (lll) et un agent chélatant. L'ion métallique trivalent dans l'échantillon est admis à interagir avec le réactif comprenant l'ion lanthanide (lll) et l'agent chélatant, cette réaction étant suivie par l'excitation de l'échantillon et la détection d'un signal issu de l'ion lanthanide (lll), et la détermination de la concentration en ion métallique trivalent dans l'échantillon à l'aide du signal détecté.
