In accordance with some embodiments, a method may include transmitting, by a source network entity, at least one handover prepare request comprising at least one extension indication to a target network entity. The method may further include receiving, by the source network entity, in response to the at least one handover prepare request, at least one handover request response from the target network entity. The method may further include transmitting, by the source network entity, at least one handover command acknowledgement to at least one user equipment based upon the at least one handover request response.

Selon certains modes de réalisation, un procédé peut comprendre les étapes consistant à : transmettre, au moyen d'une entité de réseau source et à destination d'une entité de réseau cible, au moins une demande de préparation de transfert intercellulaire contenant au moins une indication d'extension; recevoir, au moyen de l'entité de réseau source et en réponse à ladite au moins une demande de préparation de transfert intercellulaire, au moins une réponse à la demande de transfert intercellulaire provenant de l'entité de réseau cible; et transmettre, au moyen de l'entité de réseau source, au moins un accusé de réception d'une instruction de transfert intercellulaire à au moins un équipement utilisateur sur la base de ladite au moins une réponse à la demande de transfert intercellulaire.
