Methods and/or systems and/or controllers are described for estimating an exposure time for an imaging device, especially for estimating exposure times that provide maximum saturation levels while keeping the image sensor operating within its linear range. Embodiments of the present invention can apply to any type of imaging device comprising an external or embedded image sensor and an external or embedded light source. Such a device may be a dermatoscope, a laparoscope, an endoscope, a microscope, or any digital media devices such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops etc. Embodiments of the present invention can be described as comprising an LED or OLED light source. The present invention may however be implemented with any type of solid-state light source.

L'invention concerne des procédés et/ou des systèmes et/ou des dispositifs de commande pour estimer un temps d'exposition pour un dispositif d'imagerie, en particulier pour estimer des temps d'exposition qui fournissent des niveaux de saturation maximaux tout en maintenant le capteur d'image fonctionnant dans sa plage linéaire. Des modes de réalisation de la présente invention peuvent s'appliquer à tout type de dispositif d'imagerie comprenant un capteur d'image externe ou intégré et une source de lumière externe ou intégrée. Un tel dispositif peut être un dermatoscope, un laparoscope, un endoscope, un microscope ou tout dispositif multimédia numérique tel que des téléphones mobiles, des tablettes, des ordinateurs portables, etc. Des modes de réalisation de la présente invention peuvent être décrits comme comprenant une source de lumière DEL ou OLED. La présente invention peut cependant être mise en œuvre avec n'importe quel type de source de lumière à semi-conducteurs.
