A method for estimating a range of a vehicle (100) includes associating a navigation module to a vehicle fitted with tyres; estimating a weight of the vehicle; identifying at least two alternative routes for going from an origin to a destination; estimating a respective vehicle range for each of the at least two alternative routes, the vehicle range being estimated on the basis of the estimated weight of the vehicle and characteristics of the at least two alternative routes. The driver can be made aware of the residual range for a selected route. Making the vehicle driver aware may include notifying the vehicle driver that at least one of a plurality of predefined drive styles is not compatible with an available fuel/energy storage at the vehicle. Making the vehicle driver aware may include preventing the selection of the at least one of the plurality of predefined drive styles which is not compatible with an available fuel/energy storage at the vehicle.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'estimation d'une distance d'un véhicule (100) comprenant l'association d'un module de navigation à un véhicule équipé de pneus ; l'estimation d'un poids du véhicule ; l'identification d'au moins deux itinéraires alternatifs pour aller d'une origine à une destination ; l'estimation d'une distance de véhicule respective pour chacun des au moins deux itinéraires alternatifs, la distance de véhicule étant estimée sur la base du poids estimé du véhicule et des caractéristiques des au moins deux itinéraires alternatifs. Le conducteur peut être informé de la distance résiduelle pour un itinéraire sélectionné. L'information du conducteur peut comprendre la notification au conducteur de véhicule du fait qu'au moins l'un d'une pluralité de styles de conduite prédéfinis n'est pas compatible avec un stockage de carburant/d'énergie disponible au niveau du véhicule. L'information du conducteur de véhicule peut comprendre le fait d'empêcher la sélection de l'au moins un style de conduite prédéfini parmi la pluralité de styles de conduite prédéfinis qui n'est pas compatible avec un stockage de carburant/d'énergie disponible au niveau du véhicule.
