Abstract

A co-injection molded multi-layer tubular article including a generally tubular body and a flow leader ridge formed on the generally tubular body. The flow leader ridge extends around the generally tubular body to form a substantially circular protrusion. The flow leader ridge has a first portion and a second portion each of which extends between a first point on the flow leader ridge and a diametrically opposed second point on the flow leader ridge. A thickness and/or a width of the first and second portions decreases or tapers between the first point and the second point of the flow leader ridge. The interior barrier layer of the multi-layer tubular article is distributed circumferentially and axially along a length of the multi-layer tubular article between the flow leader ridge and the end of the generally tubular body. A mold for forming the multi-layer tubular article is also disclosed.

La présente invention concerne un article tubulaire multicouche moulé par co-injection comprenant un corps généralement tubulaire et une crête de tête d’écoulement formée sur le corps généralement tubulaire. La crête de tête d’écoulement s’étend autour du corps généralement tubulaire pour former une protubérance sensiblement circulaire. La crête de tête d’écoulement présente une première partie et une seconde partie dont chacune s’étend entre un premier point sur la crête de tête d’écoulement et un second point diamétralement opposé sur la crête de tête d’écoulement. Une épaisseur et/ou une largeur des première et seconde partie diminuent ou rétrécissent entre le premier point et le second point de la crête de tête d’écoulement. La couche formant barrière intérieure de l’article tubulaire multicouche est distribuée dans la circonférence et axialement le long d’une longueur de l’article tubulaire multicouche entre la crête de tête d’écoulement et l’extrémité du corps généralement tubulaire. L’invention concerne également un moule de formation de l’article tubulaire multicouche.
