Abstract

An ophthalmic device and methods of its use can be applied for treatment of various conditions including eye diseases, such as glaucoma, using minimally invasive surgical techniques. The ophthalmic device can be used to cut the trabecular meshwork (TM) in the eye. The device tip provides entry into the Schlemm's canal and ramped portions elevate the TM under tension and guide it to lateral blades. An entire strip of TM can be removed without leaving TM leaflets behind and without causing collateral damage to adjacent tissues.

Selon l'invention, un dispositif ophtalmique et ses procédés d'utilisation peuvent être utilisés pour le traitement de diverses pathologies comprenant des maladies oculaires, telles que le glaucome, à l'aide de techniques chirurgicales mini-invasives. Le dispositif ophtalmique peut être utilisé pour ouvrir le réseau trabéculaire (« RT ») de l'œil. La pointe du dispositif assure l'entrée dans le canal de Schlemm et des parties inclinées surélèvent le RT sous tension et le guident vers des lames latérales. Une bande entière du RT peut être retirée sans laisser de feuillets de RT derrière et sans causer de dommages collatéraux aux tissus adjacents.
