A fuel cell system includes a first fuel conduit configured to receive fuel from a fuel source, a reactor fluidly connected to the first fuel conduit and configured to selectively oxidize sulfur species in fuel received from the first fuel conduit, and fuel cells configured to generate power using fuel containing oxidized sulfur species received from the reactor.

L'invention concerne un système de pile à combustible comprenant un premier conduit de carburant conçu pour recevoir du combustible provenant d'une source de combustible, un réacteur en communication fluidique avec le premier conduit de carburant et conçu pour oxyder sélectivement des espèces de soufre dans le combustible reçu du premier conduit de combustible, et des piles à combustible conçues pour produire de l'énergie à l'aide d'un combustible contenant des espèces de soufre oxydé reçues du réacteur.
