Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for routing internet protocol (IP) and non-IP packets in cellular vehicle-to-everything devices that can be transmitted over the air via cellular or side-link device-to-device (D2D) communication systems without the need for the applications (e.g., automotive applications) to modify its operations. Specifically, an application (automotive application or web browser) may use default Application Programming Interface (API) that is typically used for regular cellular communication without modifying its operations to differentiate between IP and non-IP packets. Instead, in accordance with present disclosure, logical data paths may be dynamically adjusted to map services associated with the packets with an appropriate media access control (MAC) flow such that the modem receiving the packet may process and route the packet to target end-destination.

Selon divers aspects, la présente invention concerne des techniques pour router des paquets à protocole Internet (IP) et non IP dans des dispositifs de communication de véhicule à tout cellulaire (C-V2X) qui peuvent être transmis en liaison radio par l'intermédiaire de systèmes de communication de dispositif à dispositif (D2D) cellulaire ou à liaison latérale sans qu'il ne soit nécessaire pour les applications (par exemple, des applications automobiles) de modifier leurs opérations. En particulier, une application (application automobile ou navigateur web) peut utiliser une interface de programmation d'application (API) par défaut qui est typiquement utilisée pour une communication cellulaire ordinaire sans modifier ses opérations pour différencier des paquets IP et non IP. Au lieu de cela, selon la présente invention, des chemins de données logiques peuvent être ajustés de manière dynamique pour faire correspondre des services associés aux paquets à un flux de commande d'accès au support (MAC) approprié de telle sorte que le modem recevant le paquet puisse traiter et router le paquet vers une destination finale cible.
