Systems end methods for rendering three-dimensional (3D) scenes having improved visual characteristics from a pair of 2D images having different viewpoints. The 3D scene is created by obtaining a first two-dimensional (2D) image of a scene object from a first viewpoint, obtaining a second 2D image of the scene object from a second viewpoint that is different than the first viewpoint, creating a depth map from the first and second 2D images, creating a 3D scene from the depth map and the first and second 2D images, detecting regions of the initial 3D scene with incomplete image information, reconstructing the detected regions of the 3D scene, determining replacement information and modify the reconstructed regions, and rendering the 3D scene with the modified reconstructed regions from a plurality of viewpoints.

L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés destinés à restituer des scènes tridimensionnelles (3D) présentant des caractéristiques visuelles améliorées à partir d'une paire d'images 2D dont les points de vue sont différents. La scène 3D est créée en obtenant une première image bidimensionnelle (2D) d'un objet de scène à partir d'un premier point de vue, en obtenant une seconde image 2D de l'objet de scène à partir d'un second point de vue qui est différent du premier point de vue, en créant une carte de profondeur à partir des première et seconde images 2D, en créant une scène 3D à partir de la carte de profondeur et des première et seconde images 2D, en détectant des régions de la scène 3D initiale qui présentent des informations d'image incomplètes, en reconstruisant les régions détectées de la scène 3D, en déterminant des informations de remplacement et en modifiant les régions reconstruites, et en restituant la scène 3D avec les régions reconstruites modifiées à partir d'une pluralité de points de vue.
